Privacy Policy

Thoughtfish (Thoughtfish GmbH, Friedbergstr. 9, 14057 Berlin) takes the protection of your personal data very seriously and handles them with great care, complying with data protection law. The following Privacy Policy will provide you with information about the personal data that is collected and how it is processed and used.

Thoughtfish will alter the Privacy Policy from time to time. Please note that the valid version is the updated one.

1. Subject matter of this Privacy Policy

Basic principles of German data protection law are the avoidance of unnecessary personal data, economical data collection, economical data processing and use, as well as the pseudonymization and anonymization of personal data, as far as this is possible and not a disproportionate effort.

The following Privacy Policy provides an overview of how we protect your data and what kind of data we collect for which reason.

This Privacy Policy is applicable for our App „Trucify“ as well as all services which are offered on Thoughtfish Internet pages including the individual gaming/app sites. Unless stated otherwise, this Privacy Policy exclusively regulates how Thoughtfish treats your personal data. In case you make use of services provided by third parties, the privacy policies of these third parties apply exclusively. Thoughtfish does not revise privacy policies of third parties.

2. Information requests

In case you have any questions concerning privacy policy issues, please do not hesitate to contact datenschutz@thoughtfish.de. At this address, you can inquire about privacy issues and review, change or delete your personal data stored by Thoughtfish. This will cause you no other costs than your usual transmission costs (i.e. the costs of your Internet, e-mail, mobile phone or telephone connection). Alternatively, you can also contact us using the above postal address.

Please note: Before furnishing any information, we may insist on being sent some form of documentation to prove the enquirer’s identity and confirm its authenticity.

3. General

We collect, process and use individual-related data – unless already permitted by law – only with your consent. Individual-related data data is only collected by us where technically necessary to fulfill our contract with you.

4. Privacy Policy in regard to the App Trucify

4.1. Nick-Name (Your Name at Trucify)

Right after starting the app for the first time, Trucify prompts you to enter a 10 digit nickname. This is your name inside the app. In order to limit or avoid any relation to your identity, we ask you to choose a nickname which bears no relation to you, your real name or your person in any way. We do this, because we want to collect data without reference to your person. We are very interested in the opinions you state and the answers you give within Trucify. However, we are not interested in assigning these opinions and answers to a specific or identifiable person. In other words, we are not interested in assigning these opinions to you.

Should you still reveal your true name when asked for a nickname, you consent – as indicated on the screen – to us collecting, processing and using your personal data.

We assign a numerical User-ID to your nickname as well as – from time to time – certain „tags“. These “tags” allow us to provide you with detailed statistics about the questions asked in Trucify. Your answers to the questions asked in Trucify are otherwise not stored in connection to your nickname or User-ID.

From time to time Thoughtfish asks questions to create new “tags” and to assign them to your User-ID and nickname. We do this in order to offer you more details in your statistics. Thoughtfish is, due to the manner of data collection, processing and use, not able to cross-reference the new information with previous statistics.

It is technically necessary to store the device ID of the mobile device you are using to be able to offer you the services of the App and other In-App Services (i.e. to conduct In-App-Purchases or to send push notifications). We do not store your IP address.

Thoughtfish automatically collects and stores information without reference to a specific person in its Server Log Files, to offer a safe, smooth, efficient and customized gaming experience and to improve our games/apps and services.

4.2. Disclosure of personal data

Thoughtfish evaluates the answers given by you and the other players in the app Trucify to generate statistics. Thoughtfish is entitled to use and/or sell these anonymous statistics for inter alia marketing, market research, opinion research, social research and for promotional purposes.

4.3. Game Analytics

The app Trucify uses GameAnalytics, an analytical service of GameAnalytics ApS, Denmark (GameAnalytics). Game Analytics collects, processes, stores and transfers non-personal data for statistical analysis of player behavior and usage patterns of game elements. We use this service to evaluate how to improve the user experience inside the app Trucify.

For details please refer to the Privacy Policy of GameAnalytics http://www.gameanalytics.com/privacy.html. There you will find further information about the possibility of opting out of GameAnalyatics.

4.4. Adjust

The app Trucify also uses the analysis technology Adjust by adjust GmbH, Saarbrücker Str. 36, 10405 Berlin. Adjust collects installation and event data, such as “open app”. We use this anonymized information to understand how our players interact with the app and to analyze campaigns. For this analysis Adjust uses your anonymized IDFA or Android ID and your anonymized IP and MAC address. It is not possible to identify you individually.

4.5. Facebook Plug-ins

Thoughtfish uses plugins to enable the invitation of Friends via Facebook, from the social networking site facebook.com. These plugins are operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins can either be identified by one of the Facebook logos (a white “f” on a blue tile or a “thumbs up” sign), or they are specially marked “Facebook Social Plugin”.

If a user pushes the Button “Invite via Facebook”, his or her internet browser connects directly with the Facebook servers. Facebook sends the content of the plugins directly to the user’s browser and back. Since we have absolutely no control over the amount of data that Facebook collects with the help of these plugins, we would like to share our latest knowledge with you: If the user is logged in on Facebook at the same time, Facebook can allocate the visit to the user’s personal Facebook account. If the user interacts with the plugins, that information is immediately transmitted by the browser directly to Facebook, where it is saved. If the user is not using Facebook, the service can still collect and store the IP address. More information on how much data is collected and why, and how it is then processed and used by Facebook, as well as details about the users’ rights and the settings available for protecting users’ privacy, can be obtained from Facebook’s data protection policy at www.facebook.com/policy.php. If a user has signed up to Facebook but does not want Facebook to collect data and link it up with the data stored on Facebook, he/she must log off Facebook. If you have no Facebook account and/or have not (yet) consented to have your data collected and used by Facebook, we recommend to not use/activate Facebook plugins.

5. Privacy Policy on our websites

In server log files, Thoughtfish automatically collects and saves the following information that your Browser relays to us.

  • Browser-type and version
  • Operating System
  • Referrer URL (the website visited before)
  • IP address
  • Time of your Query

This data cannot be related to a specific person. We do not merge these data with other sources. After a statistical analysis, these data are deleted regularly.

If you register on our website, participate in competitions or subscribe to our newsletter, it is necessary that you provide us with personal data. This data is for example your name, address, email address or other personal data that will be requested by Thoughtfish in individual cases.

5.1. Cookies

Cookies are miniature files that can be saved temporarily or permanently to your hard drive to recognize a re-visiting user. This website does not use cookies with the exception of Google Analytics (see below). If you wish to prevent cookies from being installed in general or would like to delete individual cookies, please follow the instructions of the manufacturer of your browser.

5.2. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, i.e. text files that are stored on your computer to enable your use of the website to be analyzed. The information relating to your use of this website generated by the cookie is usually transmitted to and stored by a Google server in the USA. If IP anonymization is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or other contracting states to the Treaty on the European Economic Area. The full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there only on an exceptional basis. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of this website, compiling website activity reports and providing further services relating to website activity and Internet use to Thoughtfish. The IP address transmitted from your browser via Google Analytics will not be associated with any other data held by Google. You may prevent the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate setting in your browser software; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to full extent. You may also prevent the collection and processing of the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of this website (incl. your IP address) by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in, which is available here.

6. Use of other plugins

Our games, services and websites may also contain other plugins. Each plugin is the responsibility of its provider (e.g. Twitter, Google). Again, this means that we have no control over the amount of information that the respective provider collects with the help of its own plugin, or how it then uses that information.
If the user is not yet a customer of the provider or has not (yet) consented there to having his/her data collected and used, we recommend not clicking on these plugins.
If, on the other hand, the user is already a customer of the plugin provider, he/she should refer directly to the relevant provider for information on the kind and amount of personal data it collects and uses, and for what purpose.
